Main Street Revitalization II: Your Input Needed!

By February 1, 2022 February 4th, 2022 No Comments

The Northwest Minnesota Foundation is gathering information for a potential application to the State of Minnesota’s Main Street Revitalization Program. Funds provided to partner organizations such as NMF will establish programs that target economic development and redevelopment projects.

The State facilitated a first round of funding through this program in 2021; NMF is now preparing for an application to the second round, known as Main Street Revitalization II (or, MSR II).

NMF is asking that anyone with a project or projects that could be considered for this opportunity to submit details on those projects through an NMF survey, found HERE. Please note that this will be a competitive process for our Northwest Minnesota region, and while we wish to include every potential project that is submitted, NMF will need to limit the final application to two or three targeted corridors.

As in the first round, NMF will host an informational virtual Q&A to share the process and answer questions.

The Q& A will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, via zoom, through this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83440734857?pwd=OVFtaDdWV0ZXWTdoRjR6YnNDM0J6QT09

Successful proposals from our northwest region will contain multiple projects that will have very high economic impact across their communities. We are looking for projects that revitalize corridors and main streets and that have an outsized impact on businesses, housing, surrounding communities, and are inclusive of diverse populations.

If you are a business, property owner, or developer seeking funds for your specific project(s) or facility we encourage you to complete our survey. Please note that we are only accepting surveys from individuals, developers, and/or organizations that serve our Northwest Minnesota region. Local governments cannot receive funding from this program but are encouraged to work with developers within their community corridor(s).
