You have probably heard the statement, “This has been a very odd year” hundreds, if not thousands of times, and those words ring true – especially at the Northwest Minnesota Foundation.
The partnerships we enjoy with donors, nonprofits, state-wide foundations and governmental agencies have provided the Northwest Minnesota Foundation an opportunity to make an impact in new and numerous ways.
The Northwest Minnesota Foundation has been able to act as an intermediary over the past months for federal, state and foundation resources in response to COVID-19. We have helped facilitate over $3 million to the region in grants, loans or additional dollars that have been awarded to nonprofits, childcare providers and other businesses in the region.
We have also partnered with you and other generous donors to bring substantial grants and loans to nonprofits and businesses in our 12-county region. While not everyone received assistance, the Northwest Minnesota Foundation is glad we were able to help so many.
The needs of individuals, nonprofits and businesses will continue to surface in significant ways over the coming years. Philanthropy has never been more important to northwestern Minnesota than it is today.
We know it is philanthropic dollars raised and distributed in our own region that will sustain community investment and development over the long-term.
Please consider giving a gift this year to the Northwest Minnesota Foundation Endowment. For $40 a month (or a one-time annual gift of $500) you will be a member of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation Circle of Giving. Your support of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation will help us meet the challenges ahead with services, grants and loans that will help sustain our region and help us to Build Better Lives.
All of our best wishes to you and your family for a healthy and safe 2021.
