Today is April 1st, which means its Census Day!
What is Census Day?
Census Day is a key reference date for the 2020 Census—not a deadline. We use this day to determine who is counted and where in the 2020 Census. When you respond, you’ll tell the Census Bureau where you live as of April 1, 2020, and include everyone who usually lives and sleeps in your home.
NMF has been actively promoting the 2020 Census in Northwest Minnesota as we know the importance of everyone in our region being counted. Our Vice President for Advocacy, Nate Dorr, wrote a series of editorials that we sent out to local media about the Census, some common misconceptions, and why participation is so critical for our rural communities. You will find those editorials linked below!
Be Counted!
The Census website also has a cool feature where you can track response rates in your county, city, tribal area and more! Click here to check it out, and be sure to encourage your neighbors, friends and colleagues to do their part and be counted.
