Northwest Minnesota Foundation Accepting Proposals for Children and Families Grant
The Northwest Minnesota Foundation is opening up a request for proposals to support agencies working to remove barriers for children, youth and families to achieve stable housing. Applicants must be a nonprofit organization, local or tribal government, or school district located in the Bemidji or Red Lake School Districts. Total available funding is $30,000.
Social service providers, schools, and shelters are working together to reduce barriers for children, youth and families to achieve stable housing. The collaborative has been working to include those with lived experience throughout the development of the project. This grant project has four focus areas which include:
- Mental Health: Committed to building support for mental health throughout our communities, we are working to increase availability and access to mental health services for children, youth, and families;
- Life Skills: Offering age appropriate guidance, resources and support, we are working to give home to at risk children, youth and families while teaching them the skills needed to succeed;
- Addiction: Dedicated to building environments where children and families can thrive, we are working to educate and support children, youth and families affected by addiction; and
- Support Systems: In an effort to build and strengthen relationships with children, youth and families in need, we are working to increase the capacity of support systems throughout the region.
